Things We Only See On TV or In Movies

If you have no direct knowledge about certain things and have watched a lot of TV and movies, you will be pleasantly surprised that some things commonly seen in TV or movies are just not normal in the real world.

There are just things that appears to be standard in TV shows and movies. But in reality, we hardly see them in real life.

This is why scenes in motion pictures are called reel life. It's not really real.

Reel Life

People would have amnesia after they have a car accident or when they hit their heads hard.

Real Life

Hardly anyone personally knows anyone who had amnesia, at least not the movie kind where someone forgets their name, people and their past, but still functions perfectly normal.

Reel Life

People cannot report a person missing until after 24 hours.

Real Life

Who would why would anyone even wait that long?

Reel Life

A person who has just been arrested has a one phonecall.

Real Life

Depends where you are and the circumstances of the arrest. But it's hardly how movie or TV portray this to be.

Reel Life

People always have alot of free time. They can skip work or school or they don't come home at night or for days.

Real Life

People's businesses will close, they will their jobs, be suspended or kicked out of school and loved ones not waiting for 24 hours to report them missing.

Reel Life

People take their medicine straight up, swallowing them with no water.

Real Life

People just wouldn't do that.

Reel Life

Everything just comes easy, such as an available parking spot just outside a business entrance for example.

Real Life

One normally would have to drive around the block or park far away.

Reel Life

Phone numbers start with 555.

Real Life

555 is not a legit area code.

Reel Life

No one needs to run errands, stop for gas, groceries, supplies, medicine, pay bills, mail something, do everyday things that people do.

Real Life

Life revolves around things that are not seen in reel life.

Having said all these, there are also a few things normally seen in reel life that are also all too real in real life. Here are some examples.

True in both Reel & Real Life

- Police or law enforcement always have donuts.

- Doctors, lawyers, police officers, detectives, FBI and other people in the movies generally do look exactly how they look like in real life.

- Police always come late into a crime scene or after everything seems to be over.

-Schools and workplaces having cliques, bullies, jerks, nerds, weird people.
