“Special Combat Readiness”

Apocalypse Clock

It is confusing how the so-called Doomsday Clock has remained at 100 seconds until midnight (point of no return) when Putin has just heighten Russia's military status to  “Special Combat Readiness” -- high alert mode of combat standby duty.

The Clock was last moved back in January 2020 to 100 seconds (1 minute 40 seconds) before midnight. This is the closest to midnight the Clock has been since it was started in 1947.

Nearing Nuclear War

Following that Putin's announcement on why they started "Special Military Operations" into Eastern Ukraine, he warned of dire consequences for any nation who will prevent their advance into neighboring Ukraine and threaten them. Putin said those who do, will be on the receiving end of something they have never faced before.

Now that in light of, Putin's latest statements -- "Western countries aren’t only taking unfriendly actions against our country in the economic sphere, but top officials from leading NATO members made aggressive statements regarding our country,"

He has now followed through with this earlier threat by ordering to put their nuclear deterrent forces in a "High Alert of Combat Duty." Yes they have nukes and they are now getting everything in place to ready and standby mode.

If anything, this single move signals the closest the world has been to nuclear war.  He did warn everyone about this. 

The Doomsday Clock should start to move again, and when and where it stops, no one knows.
